Online consultations at Clinique Omicron are private and are not reimbursed by the RAMQ for procedures billed privately. Some private group insurances reimburse remote medical or paramedical consultations - check with your insurer for coverage. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) may also cover certain consultations. Telemedicine does not replace emergency care or procedures requiring a physical examination: auscultation, palpation, invasive procedures, blood draws, or imaging. In case of chest pain, stroke, severe breathing difficulties, or serious injury, call 911 or go to the CHU de Québec (Hôtel-Dieu, CHUL, or L'Enfant-Jésus) immediately. The healthcare professional will assess whether the situation can be managed remotely and will guide you if necessary.
Yes. If deemed necessary, an order for blood tests, samples, or medical imaging can be issued during the online consultation. You can then have these tests performed at a laboratory or imaging center of your choice in the Quebec City region. Clinique Omicron also offers at-home blood collection services in certain areas – contact us to check availability in your sector.
Yes, you can make an appointment for yourself or a member of your family. For minor children, the consultation must be attended by a parent or legal guardian. For caregivers who wish to accompany a family member, please specify this when making your appointment so that the consultation can be scheduled accordingly.
